Ok, just to quantify, I've known Doug for a number of years, I used to rehearse in the same space as him when he was still repairing guitars for a living & learning his trade. As you can imagine, a lot of guys from that studio own the earliest Blackmachines & guitars from even before the name was around.
The other day I was chatting to a friend of mine who owns what Doug describes as 'Blackmachine #1', and said to me that he was thinking of moving it on but wasn't even sure if there would be any interested (he's not a guitarist as such and hasn't kept up with how much Doug's business has blown up worldwide). So I told him I'd post it up to see if anyone's interested.
Here is Ben's description:
"Telecaster shape, EMG pickups, gold hardware. It's much less 'finished' than his later ones - there's clear perspex covering the electronics which I'm sure he would never do these days, but it sounds great. Only ever toured once, flightcased the whole time, and it's still in basically the same condition as when I bought it off him."
And a couple of pics(Ben says excuse the very early 2000's fashion mistakes!!!) and he will take some proper ones tonight.
