Great great book. Very interesting. I'd recommend anyone that is curious why music affects us the way it does to defiantly check it out.

Basically, the music we were exposed to while young, in the womb and first couple of years will effect your music tastes later. Not like if your parents like Led Zeppelin you will like Led also. Just similar music.
I'm also looking forward to reading another one of his books "The World in Six Songs".

I have a copy of This is Your Brain on Music, but haven't read it yet. I'm not sure I buy his theory about music we were exposed to early in life. My parents were NOT very rockin' people.
