Let me start by saying I love Drew Karpyshyn's writing. He was (I believe) the lead writer of KOTOR, and is one of the writers of Mass Effect. He wrote the Darth Bane trilogy and both Mass Effect books. I've read all of his books so far and simply love his simple, straightforward style. The first KOTOR game and the first Darth Bane book are absolute masterpieces, and are right up there with TESB for the best things to ever happen to Star Wars.
Ok so I'm 4-5 chapters into this book now, and it appears to be basically KOTOR 3. The story follows Revan as he searches for The Exile. So it's basically sounding like it's wrapping up both protagonists from the games, which is exciting. Also canonically answers that Revan was male and The Exile is female.
Anyway I'm liking it a lot so far. It goes back and forth from following Revan for a chapter or two, to following a fairly underpowered sith Lord Scourge for a chapter or two. Both characters are smart but flawed, and I'm liking where it's going.
So a must pick-up for anyone that loved KOTOR.
