    Les MisÚrables

    See it. In theatres.

All the performances are excellent, and any criticism I could give would be pointless nitpicking that in no way makes the film any less enjoyable. If you've heard anyone talking about the film so far, you've probably heard about "that song" of Anne Hathaway's. Yes, it's that great. It's fucking incredible.

The fact that the singing was recorded live as it was being filmed makes this film mindblowing. It's flawlessly done.

Also, while some stage-to-screen adaptations have cut songs and altered scenes to make them "more fitting for film" (Rent, Sweeney Todd), this does very little of that.

The set design, art direction, costumes, etc. is all perfect. The film looks incredible and is fully immersive.

Honestly, I'll probably see it again.

    Saw this review:

    Seems like something to check-out.

The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

I'm sure I'll sit through it for my wife but I HATE musicals. I can't keep a straight face when all of the sudden they break out into song. DO NOT WANT.

I dig the show (and musical theater in general), but I've been hearing mixed things. The cast seems awesome, but I've heard some of the vocal performances, particularly Russel Crowe, are pretty questionable.

Granted, a lot of those criticisms came from hardcore musical theater people I know who take offense if anyone anywhere is ever cast in a musical and doesn't live up to the original. I personally don't care as much as long as they get the job done and it works as a movie.
