Damn. She was a very funny and SMART woman. Her and those Damn surgeries.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.” ― Alan Moore

    Wirelessly posted

Damn... From what it's been sounding like, the outlook didn't seem good.

Some of her standup was side-splittingly funny. Some of her early stuff on Carson and other shows was incredible. Plus, she was a true pioneer for women in entertainment, and she deserves a lot of credit for it even being possible for modern women in entertainment to be crude or risque.

I saw her eating at Lanza's on the Lower East Side on Easter weekend of 2012 or 2013. She basically held court on the way out of the restaurant.
Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

    Favorite bits:
“The fashion magazines are suggesting that women wear clothes that are ‘age appropriate.’ For me that would be a shroud.”

"I wish I had a twin, so I could know what I'd look like without plastic surgery."

"I've had so much plastic surgery, when I die they will donate my body to Tupperware."

"Don't tell your kids you had an easy birth or they won't respect you. For years I used to wake up my daughter and say, "Melissa, you ripped me to shreds. Now go back to sleep."

"I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw that my bath toys were a toaster and a radio."

"Why should I cook for my husband? So he can tell a hooker I make a delicious cake?"

One joke she made which, for some reason stuck with me, was about how she accused her husband of having an affair with the Queen of England while vacationing there which he denied. She then asked, "Well, then why do you have tiara marks on your stomach?"
