Default Worst Possible Idea Ever, May Be An Ok Movie?

So, let me explain this movie to you before you watch the trailer:

Y'know that part of "Fantasia" where Mickey is a sorcerer's apprentice? And he gets the brooms to do the work for him? And they keep multiplying and everything gets out of control?

Apparently someone said "Let's make that into a feature film."

And someone else replied "Yes! But let's do it live action!"

To which the first person said "I like it! But who do we get to star in it?"

And the second person replied "How 'bout Nick Cage and that dork from Fanboys and Knocked Up?"

And the first person said "Of course! It seems obvious now! In fact, how about we get Jerry Bruckheimer in on it?"

And they both rejoiced.

Sounds like the worst idea for a movie ever, right?

So why does this trailer make me want to see it? I mean, I know it's going to be corny, I know it's got basically nothing to do with the original source material, and yet, I think I might actually enjoy it

See for yourself, and tell me if I'm crazy

Nick Cage. Oh Boy!

I think the reason it looks entertaining is, to quote you, "it looks like it has nothing to do with the orignal source material."

But it still has Nick Cage. He's got as many dimensions as the period at the end of this sentence.

Problem #1. He claims to have been searching all over the world for that kid...it looks to be set in America...the kid is American...why the fuck didn't he start his search in America and save himself the travel costs and minimise his carbon footprint! Jeeeeeeeez.

Like most other things Nick Cage has done (not including Con Air which is awesome) it looks like a piece of shit
