Default The Night Angel Trilogy - Brent Weeks

Brent Weeks | The Night Angel Trilogy

Awesome series. I'm about halfway through the second book. It's medieval-ish, but not really fantasy. It's all about assassins, kind of like Black Company meets Mistborn. Not quite as good as either of those, but definitely worth reading.

Since only Naren will give a fuck, I'll await his reply!

Looks pretty cool. I love assassin novels.

On a side note, I've been wanting to read The Black Company for a long time now, but I've never found it at any bookstore I've been to...

* Naren knows that he could just order it off Amazon... but sometimes he's just too old-fashioned for that.

The cover art reminds me of the Shadow War series. Which is fucking awesome, btw. Takes the universe from "Willow" and makes it into an incredibly badass, well-written fantasy epic.

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

TBC is in my top 3. It's fantastic.

This: It's very good. The first book is the best so far, but that said, the assassins are AWESOME, and have some type of magic, but it's very well done and not like, wizard-y. It's great.

People always talk about The Black Company like it's legendary, but I've never been able to find any of the books anywhere, despite being able to find every single Malazan book, Sanderson book, and whatever else I wanted...

Book folks needz to get on the ball, yo.

Don't worry about people talking behind your back, it just means you're one step ahead and they're in perfect position to kiss your ass!

Black Company is very good you should order it from amazon. I think I liked his Darkwar Series a bit more tho TBH. They released it as an omnibus not too long ago and I picked it up.

I would also prefer to buy books from a store whenever possible but even the larger stores sometimes have a limited selection so I end up ordering a lot of stuff from amazon. I would rather order from an actual store tho because oftentimes I find really great books just by browsing what they have available. And of course it would suck if the only place you could buy a book was online.

That's the way I've figured out tons of great authors. By just looking through a section of a bookstore and seeing an interesting book, reading the back, flipping through it a little, and then deciding to buy it based on that to find out that it totally rules.

I might give in and buy the books off amazon... which I've only done about once or twice now... but I'd rather not.
