So I have this friend that just bought himself a 60" plasma TV, and he says to me hey I have a 50 inch Panasonic LCD HDTV, just sitting around collecting dust. So he offers me it for $500, practically a steal. It's a 2004 model, weighs 80 lbs and has a stand.
Here's the downside, I really don't want a behemoth TV. I have a modest 30" Philips CRT HDTV that I've been happy with for years and that fits my living room entertainment center. About the biggest I could go and still have the same setup would be 42". My wife considers the entertainment center one more thing to dust, while I think it looks nice and makes the whole room look better. The new TV would mean a need for a new entertainment center or stand to put it on. My setup is nothing special, I mean I bought the entertainment center for $300 at best buy like 9 years ago, but it has glass doors, underlights, and glass shelves and IMO looks pretty badass.
The TV is a steal, I just don't know if I really want something that big. What are your thoughts?
If your happy with what you have then stick with it.
I had(have) a CRT tv that I've had forever that I replaced with an LCD HD tv and I almost prefer the picture on the CRT better. But that's mostly because our cable service(fucking comcast) doesn't offer jack shit for HD channels. Regualar channels look like shit on an LCD tv.
