Yes, the big bloated slug of an app it is...it needs to go. I don't think I have to explain why.
What I'm thinking about doing is getting an external 2.5" hard drive that can be powered via USB, and upgrading my car stereo to one with a touchscreen interface with a USB port so I can just plug in the hard drive and choose songs with the touchscreen.
And, if I get the Motorola Droid, I wouldn't need iTunes for anything.
Upgrading the car stereo would be expensive since they don't make a USB add-on for my factory one...which sucks. Unless of course somebody still makes an MP3 player that supports AAC and drag and drop that has about 80GB capacity. It looks like giant MP3 players are dead though.
The iPod is dead, long live the iPod.
I don't use iTunes, and I still use my iPod. However, I have options since I'm not in Mac-land. For the Mac, iTunes is about it...
