Is from my phone, because my laptop decided to be a giant steaming pile of fecal material tonight when I got into work.
I opened the screen and was slightly puzzled when it wasn't in standby. I turned it on, and it brought up the "Windows didn't close down properly" dialogue. Normal boot was a no-go. Last good settings was also a no go. Safemode failed to load explorer.exe, and safe mode with networking wouldn't load explorer.exe either, said it was missing "normaliz.dll" AND gave me the stupid countdown box saying windows was going to restart.
No new software was installed. Not really sure what happened there, but it annoyed me. There wasn't really much on it yet since I just got the thing a week ago. I've got a couple of linux Live CDs around to try and salvage what files I did have on it. Still trying to decide what OS I'm going to put on it this time.
Oh, and before anyone says "forget it, get a mac" the idea has crossed my mind, but I can't afford it at the moment.
all I can think of is maybe trying to boot from a cd, trying the repair windows option t then if that doesn't work a reinstall of windows....
