I went to Best Buy today to snoop the computer section. I walked out with one of the new Apple keyboards (wired, with numeric keypad), and a WD MyBook Essential 1TB.
I took the opportunity to play with an iPad, and I must say the thing is absolutely beautiful design-wise. John Ives has a very distinct style, and a high attention to detail which really shines through. Due to it's closed nature, and it's iTunes dependency I still won't buy one, but I can see why somebody would. It's a great device for the person who wants to check emails and surf basic websites and such. The coolest thing on the one I played with was the games. Plants Vs. Zombies on an iPad is just a perfect match. Soooo fun. If I had a ton of money to waste on gadgetry, I might buy one just for silly games.
The new Apple keyboard is nice IMO. The keys did not take any time to get used to for me, and I may end up preferring this style of keyboard over the older styles. There is still plenty of travel in the keys, and it doesn't have that cheap netbook feel. It is also very nice that it is no longer a dirt tray like the previous model.
