I'm about to appoint my 2010 Mac Mini as my main computer once I snag this from newegg.
I'm also going to upgrade it to 8GB of RAM. Why have a computer that you haven't maxed out?
So, the next upgrade would be the hard drive. I'm pretty sure it has a 500GB drive already (I haven't had it turned on in a while). I'd be happy with 250GB if I got a solid state drive because I keep all of my media on a 1TB external drive.
The cost per gigabyte is obviously much higher than a hard disk, but is the speed increase very noticeable? Will I nerdgasm with satisfaction? Will my Mac Mini be that much more adept at crushing its clunky PC foes? Will it cause an unrelenting hoard of horny undersexed housewives to knock down my door? Will it help the SETI project? Will it inspire Drew to finish hisfuckingalbum? Will it cause a sudden growth in Dave's height and Chris' penis? Will it make JBroll's sarcasm obvious? Will it be able to compute logic and syntax errors quicker than Naren does? Will it start countless Mac vs. PC flamewars? Will it get Christians and Atheists to finally agree on Roe v. Wade? Will it run Crysis? What about Duke Nukem Forever? Can I have over 9000 instances of World of Warcraft running for gold farming? Will Fabio advertise it in a commercial? Will it provide faster load times for internet porn? Would it run Minecraft? Would it run over 9000 instances of VirtualBox running over 9000 instances of DOS each? If it can, would it also run over 9000 instances of Commander Keen? Have you read this far? Do you think I could connect an SSD to my super sweet Commodore 64? How would this affect my 1337 4@x? Would it make Ada Lovelace cream her victorian panties? Would it be able to help me build an unbeatable Magic the Gathering deck? What about Dungeons and Dragons? Do you think it would be a good Dungeon Master? NUDEMAN.
