I have a HP Pavilion Dv5 laptop with Windows Vista installed, and with me hopefully getting some KRK Rockit's in the near future, I wanted to upgrade the crummy Soundblaster integrated stuff that comes stock.
I've been looking at specs because I can't see a PCi express slot on the sides of my laptop, so I went to the HP site and entered my product and found this:
One ExpressCard/54 slot (also supports ExpressCard/34)
What does this mean? This is all it says on the subject of any extra slots. Do they mean PCi express by this?
I just want a new soundcard for playback with the monitors rather than an interface soundcard, I just didn't want to order a Pci express card and it not slotting in anywhere.
Any help is appreciated!
Why not just use a USB or FireWire mixing/recording device to plug your speakers into?
