I have had high speed internet for 6 years. Since the beginning i've had a wireless router. The first one I bought was a Linksys, then I bought a Netgear, and then another Netgear (which is what I have currently). Problem is, i'm luck if I can get these fucking things to last 2 years before I want to smash them with my Fubar.
Does anyone else have this same problem? All the routers worked great at first, then about a year and a half later they start dropping wireless connections. This usually isn't a problem because I can reset it quickly and easily without getting up from Windows 7, but my wireless printer has to be reset in order to re-connect it (I gave up and hooked it up with Cat5e). Now I need to get up and hard reset it to gain a connection back, and it's only getting worse.
I tried updating and rolling back the firmware, but nothing changes.
Anyone else have this issue?
No. Linksys WRT54G going on 8 years of near-continuous service in dirty dorm/frat rooms and then slightly cleaner apartments.
