Reminds me of the Nigerian scammers and how they grab onto any well-known tragedy and try to scam people on it. After the earthquake here in Japan in March, Nigerian scammers started sending out e-mails saying they were people in the earthquake and that their husband had died or something like that and tried the typical nonsensical scam of the husband having a lot of money and some bizarre law about it not allowed to stay in the bank in the country. Of course, while that might apply to Nigeria (or it might not, I have no idea where there actually is any crazy law like that in Africa), it sounds like nonsense for a first world country like Japan (that isn't at war for one thing). But people fall for these scams.
