So I've got a few needs for external HD's. 1-My DVR's external is just about full. The biggest it can use is 1TB. 2-If I put a HD on my bedroom TV's box, it can become a DVR unit too. 3-My brother and I have been DJ-ing weddings on the side just for friends and whatnot, and I'd like to get a portable HD for music.
I really don't need anything >1TB, as I don't have that much music in the 1st place, and the TV boxes can't take larger than 1TB. Now, the best 'deal' I've been able to come up with, is a Toshiba portable 750GB drive @ Staples for $69.99, and I have a $20 off coupon for Staples for any external HD, bringing it to $49.99. Anybody else think this is a really really good deal? (I'm aware that currently HD prices are high because of a Tsunami that hit Western Digital's supply/factory/whatever... but I'm basing the 'pricing' on last year when I got a 1TB WD for $74).
Looks good to me. I traded a pair of Duncan's for my 1TB drive
