sucks. Everything takes forever to load it's on a million screens, bing (whatever that is) is now built in, and you have to be a gold member to do anything.

Sorry guys, I love the controller on the xbox, but the service and dashboard are terrible. I recently let my gold account expire and I couldn't honestly care less.

This is actually something that has really annoyed me about Xbox 360. I bought my PS3 before I bought my Xbox 360 and the PS3 has used the same system since the day I bought it. It updates and improves, but it's the same. Since I bought my first Xbox 360, the "frontend"/system has DRASTICALLY changed at least 4 times now. I don't know why the hell they did it. I remember the huge change where they added their rip-off of Nintendo's Mii. I was like "Do they think this will help them get some of Nintendo's customers?" This newest change is mainly a mystery to me...

I love my Xbox, but there are certain things about it that I seriously don't like... such as this.

Yeah. It looks like that shitty 'blocky' OS they were coming up with.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and you get used to it.

The Bing search is actually pretty useful if you have a keyboard or chatpad handy. With it, you can search for something like DLC in the marketplace, without actually having to browse the marketplace.

I've never really been a fan of the Metro layout on the Windows Phones, Windows 8, and now xBox, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker.

The Social (Friends) tab could be a lot better as well. Only ~3-4 friend avatars show up on the main page now, and to view anyone else online, you have to click on the friends square.

One thing I like is it notifies you when a friend starts playing the same game as you, where as before it'd only notify you that you have friends playing when you start playing the same game.

The good thing, though, is that when you are playing a game and press the Xbox button, that menu is 95% the same as it used to be (mainly they just added a few extra things to the menu, but left everything else the same). Just gives me even less of a reason to be on the Xbox dashboard.

Not a fan of the new layout, but it's still a shitload better than the one on PS3.

The things that get me: I pay $60 a year for xbox live and all of the games are hosted on the connections of peers and they plaster ads all over everything in the dashboard with the new update even more than before. That is what this update is really all about. Live is a money removal service.

Oh and while I'm bitching about it: don't give them your credit card number. Just buy the code at the store. I would feel more confident in the outcome of canceling a subscription to a porn site than xbox live.

All of that said.... it's still the best way to play games online.
