Ok so last night my internet went out, or so I thought. After waiting 5 minutes, i turned the power off and back on to my modem and router, internet connection returned. A while later the same thing happened. Except I couldn't regain a connection, so I gave up, went to sleep, and figured it was down and would be back up in the morning.
I reset the modem and router multiple times today, all that happens is the router gets all blue lights except the internet connection light blinks as trying to establish a connection. So, next step in troubleshooting, plug cable modem directly into PC. Eureka. So, why won't my router establish a connection smarter guys?
Could possibly be wireless interference in the area. I'm not sure of the exact steps to change it on your router, but try changing the wireless channel it's running on. Even better would be if it has a 4.8ghz/5ghz mode and your computers support it, use that as it's quite underused and most people use the 2.4ghz spectrum still.
