It will cost you around $870 to get Mass Effect 3's DLC -Destructoid
Most of the cost comes from buying limited-edition Razer hardware, which unlocks the Collector Assault Rifle in the multiplayer.
But, get this: for each other individual piece of collector hardware you get, the Collector Assault Rifle gets buffed.
Am I the only one who feels more than a little sickened and insulted by this? I mean, I'm pissed enough about the day 1 $10 DLC that includes a character who has pretty major implications for the ME universe. I'd never buy this extra merch stuff, but part of me worries that this is the future of gaming, with all these little add-ons and tie-ins.
I just want the game to be complete on launch, and I'm okay with incentives to buy the game new rather than used (like Zaeed), as well as added side content afterward (although leaving "holes" for the future DLC like in Assassin's Creed 2 was ultra-lame and very immersion-breaking) but this sort of thing is absurd.
The worst part is, I think it's might just work for them, and we're going to see a lot more of this in the future.
That is pretty ridiculous, but realistically unless you are a super super hardcore multiplayer, 99% of that stuff it useless.
On my second playthrough of ME2, I was pretty much unkillable with any weapon. On my 6th playthrough of ME1, I WAS unkillable, no matter what weapon I used.
This is definitely a bad trend though. I know they're just gouging the shit of the multiplayer crowd knowing full well that the COD crew will buy into it, but I really don't think that a game like Mass Effect benefits at all from any of this. The previous 2 games were great without it.
