Just got a laptop with Windows Vista. Proceeded to start pulling programs out and turning off non-microsoft services. Turned off most startup programs.
DVD drivers are hosed. Drive is not detected after startup.
Complete restore on the first day of ownership.
It just happened again. Apparently, I'm not supposed to uninstall Napster's Burn Engine.
This is the one gripe I have with buying a desk/laptop computer at a store, it comes loaded to the gills with useless programs and it takes hours to try and get them all off. I have no interest in a dozen or so trial/demo programs.
Granted if I knew nothing of computers and there were all of these 'free' programs on a pc I just bought that it would be impressive, however I DO know what I'm doing and know what I need. Next time around, I'm just going to order the parts and build my own.
