I'm trying to find out if Microsoft is going to allow users to disable the Win8 UI/Metro (apparently there's Legal issues with the Metro name).
From looking at the Windows 8 preview, it looks like Microsoft is releasing/forcing an OS on us that tailors to the social networking group of users. PC users are shit out of luck.
I've read where testers are furious about not being able to disable the Metro ui, and then I read Microsoft will keep the option in the OS to disable. Which is it?
Does anyone know the answer? I've read about a 3rd party program that will give one a desktop like windows 7, but in the same blog they update that Microsoft disabled that software from working...WTF
I’m happy with Windows 7. I'm considering Windows 8 for the audio enhancements that have been reported. I understand it will help with audio latency in any DAW. For that reason, I'm considering it. If I'm forced to use a crappy tablet os, I'll pass.
I know there’s a few on this board who have a pulse on what’s going on in the industry….do you have any idea on how Microsoft is leaning on this issue ?
Last I heard they are sticking to their guns and won't allow it to be disabled... I'm not super interested though so I've not been keeping up... There's threads on this already with good info in them...
