I've been toying with making the jump for years now, the new iMacs look awesome, and I'm probably not that far from needing a new computer anyway. Apple finally addressed my biggest pet peeve a couple years ago, the single-click mouse, and looking at their site their current mouse actually looks to be a serious step up from most PC mouses, anyway.
So, this leaves one major question - file compatability. I already use Reaper so that's a non-issue; however, if I* import all my Reaper projects and .wav files, will I still be able to open them on a Mac? Or will some sort of conversion (translation - enough of a roadblock to ensure I wait until after my album is complete) be necessary?
I probably wouldn't make the switch until after the holidays so that may be a non-issue. Thanks!
*by which I mean Chris, clearly.
From what I can figure, you should have no problems going from Win->Mac. Mac's recognize all file systems, and I've never had a problem taking xls/doc's from work and reading them on my Mac. I *have* had problems saving them at home, even as a compatibility thing, and opening them again at work. Some might think that's an issue with the Mac, but those people are probably voting Crooks anyways.
