So I bought this a while back but never really played it much. Randomly decided to fire it up the other night and have spent the last two nights staying up way too late muttering "one more turn" to myself. Anybody else play this, or previous iterations?
I'm utterly terrible at strategy games but for some reason I still really enjoy them despite that. At least with turn-based games like Civ I don't have to worry about korean children zerg rushing my base while I'm still building my first barracks.
I played Civ 4 late in high school and then once I got to college a bunch of my friends all got Civ 5 and we'd have 4 vs. 4 matches over the LAN in the dorms, it's a fun ass series. I've stayed up until 3am with the "one more turn" saying before . I prefer the turn based system too, it makes the game much easier to pickup for beginners and people like myself who just suck . One of my roommates has logged over 500 hours in Civ 5 alone and plays Sins of the Solar Empire pretty religiously so he's our go to strategy man. I picked up the Gods and Kings expansion when it was on sale and it balanced the game immensely. You should really pick it up if you haven't.
