I'm curious. Has anyone noticed YouTube sucking lately as far as HD streaming goes, or is it just me? Here's why I ask:
I've got pretty fast Internet: I average about 61Mbps (download) and 21Mbps (upload). We do a lot of online gaming, movie and music streaming, etc. plus I work from home, so these speeds are necessary.
That said, I've always defaulted to 720p or 1080p when watching YouTube stuff because it's never (historically) been a problem with my connection speed.
Until about a month or two ago.
Since then, trying to watch HD stuff on YouTube makes me want to injure myself. Streaming takes FOREVER, and usually hangs at some point. These issues seem to be happening consistently now--to the point that I'm starting to avoid YouTube altogether.
Anyone else notice this, or could I just have an issue somewhere with my gear? Everything else seems fine: Netflix, Gaming, Music, etc. Speedtest.net is confirming the numbers I put up above.
Who is your ISP? I know some have begun throttling youtube streams.
