I currently have a 15" MacBook Pro, which is awesome and powerful (and awesomely powerful, etc.), but I've recently grown tired of carrying around the bulk of the computer and power brick. I'm 30, and my neck isn't what it used to be. I'm also increasingly weary of carrying around a $3200 system every time I go out and need a computer, especially given that I typically only use ~10%-20% of it's computing power when I'm not working in my studio.
As such, I'm considering getting a low-ish end MacBook Air to serve as my out-and-about computer, leaving the MBP at home unless otherwise necessary. Unfortunately, it does need to be an Apple, since some of my essential software is OSX exclusive. I was wondering if any of y'all have hands on experience with one of the 2013 models? One of the big selling points is the idea that I'll be able to use it all day on battery without needing to carry my power brick, so mentioning your experience with that aspect is of particular interest.
I don't know whether I want the 11" or 13" model, either, since A) my hands are on the large side, and B) my eyes are on the crappy side. The 11" is more portable, of course, but I'm not sure whether it's worth the trade-offs.
Anyway, hearing about any experiences you guys have had with them would be great.
I've got one, and I love it.
That said, I still tote the power brick around.
