I was getting ready to go out earlier today and Chrome was working as usual, before I left I put the computer in standby mode and left. I come home and move the mouse to wake the computer up and go into chrome and there's ads from "bettersurf?" all over the place. I ran Norten Power Eraser and it identified some files, but couldn't delete them so I tracked down everything that was downloaded today, and deleted anything suspicious looking. I thought the problem was done and opened Chrome again and the ads were still there.
I did some research to find that many other people have had this problem and they said a solution is delete an extension, that gets installed by a third party called "Enterprise Policy" I try to delete it but it doesn't have a trash can next to it. So do more research and some people say to copy this "C:\Users\<<USERNAME>>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome \User Data\Default\Extensions" (sans quotation marks) into the file search. What do I type in place of USERNAME? I'm a bit of a noob with this stuff, thanks in advance.
Username is going to be your user profile name, i.e. C:\Users\Josh, or whatever name is associated with the profile you log in with.
