So, I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to gaming, and I intentionally haven't bought a system in well over a decade because I would certainly lose hours or days at a time. But, I was a big fan of some of the older PC games, particularly the Shogun Total War, Medieval Total War, and the Age of Empires II games. I ran these back on a computer with Windows ME. I haven't played them in ages, and I was under the distinct impression that they would not run on the newer Windows platforms.
On a lark I decided to see what would happen if I tried to load it on my computer running Windows 7. To my joy and surprise, it works! This may not be news to you, but to me it was like discovering a $100 bill in an old jacket I was about to throw out. It is a little glitchy with the battles (Just a bit, mostly with the graphics and "seeing through" hills and sometimes troop placement on the hilltop) but wholly playable.
When I get the chance I'm gonna try Age of Empires II.
