Hey dudes and Android pros... (hopefully not all IOS here lol)
So my phone and I were pushed into a pool last weekend during a game of beer pong. Aside from being furious at my "friend" and having to get a new phone now, I need a way to recover the data/pics/texts from my Android phone, the HTC EVO 4g LTE. (what a long annoying name)
Unfortunately I can't enable USB debugging via the phone to get it recognized by my computer as a hard disk. The computer recognizes a phone being plugged in but I'm not sure what to do with it.
Is there anyway through the recovery console/fastboot/ or ABD functions to get my phone backed up on my computer? I've downloaded the SDK and platform tools but
The phone is stock and has never been unlocked, rooted or any of that.
Also I'm wondering if there is a way to connect a USB mouse or keyboard with that USB 'on the go' mini usb dongle. maybe I could navigate the screen that way?
Phone's touch screen broke, phone still turns on
Able to access recovery / bootloader mode using power + volume button
Need to backup data
Otherwise I'm going to see how much it costs to fix the screen tomorrow. Thanks all!
You don't need to enable USB debugging to be able to access it as a drive, do you? Just plug it in and navigate to it via Windows Explorer. You can then browse the internal storage's contents and backup what you want.
