I have a machine (imac) using Thunderbird for a mail client.
Getting this error message
"Alert! The folder Inbox is full and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder."
Usually if you archive old mail and compact the folders this will fix that problem. This time tho, no dice.
I then tried repairing the folders (no dice again)
finally i removed the .msf files so they would be rebuilt and again - still getting this error message...
I am out of ideas so any help any of you tech gurus could come up with would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and finally it is not a server issue - the box in question has an unlimited quota but the actual mail folder for the account on the server has less than an meg in it
Well i manged to fix it - thanks for nothing you slackers
Basically i had to move all mail into new folders under Local Folders then go and delete the old inbox file in the usr/library/thunderbird/profile/mail folder.
Even tho in thunderbird it appeared empty the inbox file was over 4gb...
Then I had to give her the old Compact your folders speech
