Hey guys, I figured someone here might be able to help. I'm trying to set up a remote desktop from my wifi windows 8.1 laptop to my ethernet win8.1 desktop.
I have remote access on both enabled but it just wont connect. When i attempt it gives me the message
"remote desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:
1. Remote access to the server is not enabled
2.The remote computer is turned off
3.The remote computer is not available on the network.
Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled."
Now, I trade files back and forth between these computers all the time, so I know #3 isnt the problem.
The computers are both on of course, so #2 isnt the problem
And i enabled remote access on both computers so #1 shouldnt be an issue.
Are these both Win8 Pro? I've not had anything with "Home" version or whatever in quite awhile, but I know they were limiting RDP (what's you're wanting to use) on Home version. IIRC, "Remote Access" isn't the same as "Remote Desktop".
