Ahoy-hoy lowly mortals. I know this forum isn't the usual place to find a comparison /which phone should i buy thread, but seeing as some of you lot will have similar needs to me, it might give me the most relevant responses.
So I'm due an upgrade on my phone contract and I can get an Iphone 5s for the same upfront/monthly costs as a Samsung S5 mini.
its not just a how does the hardware stack up, but how does software/usability compare etc.
Now, I've always been an Android fanboy, but every now and then I do wonder what I'm missing out on with iphones, so I'm considering making the move form android and wondered if its worth it. I've been using the android OS since version 1.4, and its not that I dislike it or am bored with it, I'd like to try Apple, and Bias/Jamup etc is a HUGE bonus. If Bias was available on Android I don't think I'd even consider making the move across platforms.
So bearing in mind they only do 2 year contracts, has anyone made the change either way and regretted it? In terms of recording/jamming apps Apple just seems to win hands down. I don't want to be another iphone wanker, and love some of the stuff I can do with my Android phone - like installing apps from sources other than the play store. I'm also not looking forward to finding a way to migrate 200 odd Google contacts to an iphone.
Did anyone leave Apple and regret it? Did anyone leave Android for the better?
I prefer Apple for a few reasons. I have a Mac and an iPad and they all work essentially seamlessly together. With my iPhone I can use a number of audio programs on it and the hardware and software were designed for each other so work pretty well. Android is great if you want to do a lot of customisation and want more options. I don't have need for that so Apple works well for my needs.
