So, short background is I'm trying to build a new band without a singer, to make a karaoke-type thing, since karaoke is big in this area, and I think it'd be fun.
Anyways, for the system, I want to build a rackmount PC (easy to lug to gigs and protect) capable of carrying 3 dual video cards, each of which will support video to a standard monitor to each of the band members (lyrics for the singer, song notes/reminders for the rest of us so we don't have to memorize 200+ songs).
I've checked a few suppliers, seems simply utilizing this different sized case makes them three times as expensive? Any reasonable rackmount PC suppliers out there?
What sort of hardware requirements should I be shooting for to support all this video? Video cards? RAM? Processor speed?
I've found a few multi-video programs, but are there any that anyone has experience with? Again, what I'm looking to do is create some videos from Powerpoint, each song having 5~6 videos to be played simultaneously for each band member.
Is this the dumbest idea anyone has ever had, ever?

Probably easier to have one or two lyrics displays, and have the band play to a click with audio reminders/notes in your in-ears.
