The HDD I stored all my photography on started making some noises, rebooted my PC, and chkdsk needed to run. It appeared to have stopped running midway through, so I forced shutdown, then skipped it when next booting up, and now the HDD appears empty.
I tried using a programme called Uneraser, but it didn't find anything. Does anyone know of anything hardcore that can really pull it out of the fire?
This is a bit of a catastrophe, as I've just lost years of hobby photography, and a lot of stuff I really loved. I hadn't uploaded any of it anywhere, save for a handful of my best I shared on G+ with a friend, so for now it's all gone. I obviously need to look into some back up, 'cause I'd be pretty suicidal if this happened to my recording HDD, but this is bad enough.
I don't know of any, but
