My laptop died recently but it was in need of a replacement for quite a while as it was falling apart and failing to keep up with most programs, being roughly 5 years old. I'm now looking into building its successor that can be more flexible about upgrades and so on... So basically, a desktop since laptops are a pain in the arse to mod.
The specs I'm thinking of are:
Intel Core i7 processor
1TB hard drive, although that can wait as I still have the one from my laptop with all the information on it.
However, I reckon the first things to buy for this are a motherboard and case, correct me if I'm wrong though.
What would be the best way to start on this project and what would you all recommend in terms of reasonably priced, well cooled and fairly silent ITX cases?
There are companies like Power Computing | Custom Gaming PC Motherboard Laptop | PC Repairs | Home who will build you a PC for a good price with the spec you have listed where you dont really need to put a huge amount of thought into the individual parts. Unless you actually know what you are talking about when it comes to individual components (I dont) i would suggest just saving up till you can buy the whole thing and get a company like that to build and deliver it.
