So as per the thread title, I just put together a new PC and wondered what to do next.
Ive got an interface, reaper, EZ drummer etc for writing and recording demos and ideas, and thats the PCs main function.
i've not owned a decent PC since 2003, but with the specs of what i put together it turns out I have a sweet little gaming rig potentially too.
I've never been a PC gamer, and cant be bothered with buying another xbox/playstation, but for the odd game this should be adequate.
but what do you guys do? My mate said i should put the steam OS On my machine but i have no idea how that works, and I dont want to clog my machine up. Ideally i'd play the odd FPS online - is there a MG.ORG gaming group or something that i could join? like the matchmaking with friends over the xbox network.
I havent a clue how this all works, so feel free to give me some pointers to get started with PC gaming.
And what games do you chaps play mostly? so i can follow the herd and jump into some team games.
In case it helps with recommendations the specs are...
AMD A10 4.1 quad core APU
16GB ram 1800hz
er thats it I think.
Your graphics card is the most critical part, really. Regardless, forget the Steam OS. Just download Steam for Windows, then wait for the next Steam sale and grab a load of cheap games. Steam does everything you need: sells games, and has a buddy list and messenger app.
