To be honest, when GH came out it infuriated me. It's DDR with music that isn't electronic. At least DDR makes you kinda dance whereas GH has 5 buttons and whammy that gives you more points when you use it (the whammy thing especially annoyed me). There was really no reason for me to be as prejudiced towards the game as I was. Chalk it up to my list of quirks.
Then I thought that maybe it would encourage more people to play guitar. When someone gets a real guitar due to this game, it makes me happy. One of my students is a "convert". He's well on his way through learning Symphony of Destruction. Makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside.
