My piling system is perfectly logical and organized. Old stuff is at the bottom, new stuff is at the top.

Duh!

I occasionally get things on my desktop, because i cant see it. Running win7 in a vm in unity with fusion, so i cant see the desktop at all. I still check weekly though to make sure nothing has gotten on there

Wirelessly posted (boobies)

My home is organized and I am constantly keeping up with it and reorganizing when need be. My desktop is the same way. On mine I have the typical Windows icons, and a couple app shortcuts. I use the desktop like I'd use a real desk. When I am working on something I'll often drop the files on the desktop and then put them where they belong later. It doesn't stay messy long though. Drives me nuts.

I have no icons whatsoever, whether on my desktop or in my taskbar I remove everything I will never use from the start menu, and I use my keyboards G-keys for everything I use frequently. This is the same at both home and work. Generally, people hate using my computers

I don't even have the "My Computer" and "My Network Places" shortcuts on my desktop - I use them from the Start menu. I've got links to six network folders (for our in-house apps) and shortcuts to two batch files on my desktop.

Now, at home...

I look at it like darren. It's a desktop - anything I'm working on I save there for ease of access. Where I probably go wrong is not moving them when I'm done or doing a periodic e-clean, but whatever.

Of course, Chris damned near had a meltdown on the phone last night, so I have a feeling the number of beers that this cleanup is worth is like triple what it would have been with a clean desktop...

I have a folder on my desktop that says... "desktop". All of my shit is there. The real desktop is clean.
