I was told that the band would make arrangements to still keep me on as their bass player but that thought must have been pretty short lived. I never had any problem with being let go. In fact, when I first assembled the guys together earlier that Summer to inform them that I was moving away, I flat out told them that they would need to find a new bass player. That thought was met with a resounding NO and I was assured that I was their bass player and we'd all find a way to work around it. My issue comes with the way they.. actually, I shouldn't say "they" because it was only one particular guy ..anyway, HE strung me along with this belief for 6 months only to go back on his own word without so much as a care when I was ready to rejoin them.
So like I said above, whatever. I'm done with it and have been for some time. The real personal slap is that said individual and I were really good friends and had known each other for 10 years when this all happened. More than anything I'm pissed that I was treated in such a manner by someone who I completely trusted to not do me wrong.
But as the Beatles say... life goes on... ob-la-di-bla-da
