Alright, so lately I've been giving 2nd chances to some albums I have that I didn't necessarily think were 'awesome' the first time I listened to them, but now having listened to them a few more times, I find much more enjoyable to listen to.
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor
Iced Earth - Framing Armaggedon
(And in general, I've grown to appreciate Pink Floyd more)
You guys ever do this?
When I first heard Rush's 'Spirit of the Radio' at about age 10 I thought it sounded like they couldn't decide what song they were playing. A couple of years later I 'got it', and to this day, 'Permenant Waves' is one of my favourite albums, and one of my bench-marks for rhythm playing and guitar tone.
Warrell Dane's 'Praises To The War Machine': When i first heard the streamed version I thought it sounded like a bunch of half-finished Nevermore songs. I ended up picking it up on impulse during my lunch-break at work, and it's been on pretty constant rotation since.
Radiohead in general: Thought they were colosally tedious until I saw 'Kid A' in Terrorizer's annual 'best of the year' list, and figured I'd give it a go.
