there's something out there, like a roland something or other....
This will be for playing back click tracks that I create myself on my computer, for live shows where i'm playing drums.
i've gone through 2 mp3 players in the past 4 years, and the 3rd one i'm on I can't stand due to it's real finicky fast foward, stop, and play buttons (there ahve been plenty of times where the wrong click was que'd, at both shows and rehearsals).
the unit i would like would have to hold a bunch of these files that I created, as well as multiple playlists that I'll create (for different setlists, depending on how much set-time Division gets... which sometimes, we find out at the last minute).
whether this thing can hold samples for the FOH isn't a big deal, b/c Division doesn't do that right now. But, that capability would be cool in case we ever decide to go that route... maybe for intro's or something.
Do you need complex click tracks - rhythm changes mid-song? If not, a simple metronome will probably do. If not, I think you're on the right track w/ an MP3 player, just get a good one w/ solid state storage.
