    "Holy Wars" demo

This is from the SFSGSW era. It is HORRID, because Chuck and Jeff sucked so very, very bad.

Division: American Metal without the suck.

    So live for today,
    Tomorrow never comes.
    Die young, die young,
Can't you see the writing in the air?
    Die young, gonna die young,
    Someone stopped the fair.

It's not as bad as this demo of A Tout le Monde:

Dave sounds totally drunk on this one.

Edit: Thank god that Marty and Nick Menza joined before they recorded RIP, though. Nick Menza is an awesome drummer IMO.

The drumming is terrible on that first one. It's not nearly as cool a piece without all of the stop/starts that Nick did.

I play bass in a band called Weaponlord.

I also play bass in a band called Northern Crown.

I used to play bass in a band called Faethom.

Wow, that has no energy at all. Rust In Peace is one of those albums where you get tired of the guitar pyrotechnics after, oh, 40 listens and decide to start paying attention to the drums, and then it gets that much better.

I didn't realize that Dave had this tune banked for so long. Very glad he decided to unload on it when he did, because RIP-era 'Deth is absolutely the band's peak from both a music/technique and songwriting standpoint. (imo of course)

I'm probably I'm in the minority here, but I really dug SFSGSW. Sure, Jeff used a way too much delay to cover up his slop and Chuck was not the greatest drummer in the world, but I did like the album as a whole.
