Default New Killswitch Engage

I searched a few pages, so hopefully I'm not duping a thread

Anyways, it's pretty fucking epic - I'm streaming it off their myspace as we speak. Just about finished with the disc, and I can say I'm very pleased with their efforts. You can tell a new producer has helped delineate their sound, and this album certainly stands on its own against the others. Still following the big chorus, catchy metal guitar riff formula, but it is virtually their darkest work yet.

I recommend it

Who said you could eat my cookies??

It is like Howard I guess

Not much has evolved. There seems to be a flow between songs - those that scream are mostly screaming, those that sing have mostly clean vocals.

I was unimpressed by it, saying that, there's very few Killswitch songs I actually like, their guitar work does nothing for me. The drummer is an exceedingly good drummer for what they do though, and a really cool guy

Cool. Is it out now? I saw them live a couple months ago and they sounded just like the album and Howard can definitely pull off his vocals live.

FUCK THE YANKEES

One thing I don't like about his live vocals is how muffled they are: both the cleans and aggressive vocals. On the album, they are nice and clear, but every single live video I've seen, every single live clip I've heard, and every song at the Killswitch Engage concert I was at, his vocals are always really muffled (which isn't the case for Adam's). I think it might have to do with how he holds the mic, but it's always kinda annoyed me.

I gave each song a quick listen and honestly each song I heard I wasn't interested enough to finish listening to it, so I just flipped back to the good ol' days of Alive or just breathing.

this must be a joke. I don't see how it could possibly be their darkest album

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I actually like their more commercial sounding efforts. I like Howard's clean vocals and wished he would sing like that more often.

I preordered the cd so I'm waiting for it to come in the mail, been listening to starting over alot. I like it, doesn't have to be all out metal to be enjoyed IMO. I listen to all kinds of music so seeing how their sound changed doesn't change my opinion of how they perform.
