Default Judas Priest: Rob Halford or Ripper Owens

Just for the hell of it, discuss.

Rob, all the way.
Tim is/was awesome but Priest wasn't Priest without Halford.
It's like that Motley Crue album with John Corabi. Excellent fucking album but they shouldn't have used the name Motley Crue.

But again, I said based solely on talent. Does rob outperform ripper, or vice versa? I love both singers for different reasons, I'm just curious what everyone else's thoughts are.

I've never seen Rob live but I have seen Ripper live with Priest, and he is truely talented. But I'll still go with Rob based on live cds and dvds that I've seen.

Other way around for me, I've never seen Ripper live -- but I have seen Rob live and he is a bowels-in-your-back-pocket-amazing frontman. So I voted Rob

I can't really say, I've not heard enough Ripper-era Priest. I have seen them live with Rob though, and like Martin said, they were amazing. Especially Rob.

I've seen Tim with Priest and I've seen Rob with the Halford band.

My choice is Rob.

Rob Halford is the voice of Judas Priest and one of my favorite vocalist ever.

Halford, EASILY. Tim Owens is a good vocalist, but it seems like just about everything he's ever sang on has sucked by no fault of his own. For example, the Iced Earth albums he was on, the last priest disc he was on, etc. They blow. Not because he's a bad singer, but cause all those bands were or are still in a slouch and writing shitty albums.
