Default Pat Metheny: Giant Steps

This is a really clever interpretation of the tune, and Pat plays a bitching solo. It's really cool to hear a rendition of this that isn't just a chops showcase.

"The greatest power one may possess -- in any situation -- is simply not to care what happens.

"In fact, it's the only power, all others being a semblance and mockery of it. But you must also not care about possessing the power itself. So fuck it."

As a bonus, check out this one from 'Secret Story'; probably my favourite Metheny album.

I've only got his album "One Quiet Night" which is excellent to just chill out to. I need to get more of his stuff.

One of my favourite Metheny songs, mainly for the solo. I saw him live around 1992, and his solo in Are You Going With Me moved me to tears... it was the first time music really had that direct and powerful of an emotional impact on me.
