    If You Play Guitar.....

...then I want to ask a small favor.

A friend of ours has recently been diagnosed with a very serious illness. I say "ours", because he's been a major factor in getting 7's and other cool guitars out to the masses for a long time now.

Paul S. from Hoshino USA (aka Ibanez) is the guy we're talking about and he was diagnosed with a type of Leukemia a few weeks ago. Even though he occasionally wears a suit and tie, he's one of the good guys in the guitar world.

He's attended a few Jemfest events, and even jumped up on stage at one! Paul has ALWAYS helped us out with cool stuff to raffle off, and coordinating all that with the Vai camp.

I spoke with him last weekend, and though he sounded a bit tired he told me he has a great crew helping him through this. Chemo is no party, for anyone.

I wanted to ask my online guitar buds if they could send their choice of well wishes to Paul in the hopes that it helps him out. I'm going to post this on a bunch of forums and get him links so he can check the threads.

So, feel free to post your positive thoughts, prayers, or whatever you choose.

    Thanks everyone.

    Hey Paul,

My first 7-string guitar was made by Ibby, and was the springboard for any metal playing that followed. I truly wish you all the luck in the world in pulling through this tough time. We'll be thinking about you.

Of my 8 guitars, half of them are Ibanez, and three of them I will never sell. A 1985 XV500, 1983 RoadstarII, and 2001 RG7621. Thanks for not putting out the same crap that others have stuck to! Invention and creativity are what pushes us forward in our art

Attitude goes a long way in boosting your body's ability to fight this nasty disease. Keep your spirits high and know that there are a lot of people out there (some you may not know or have not met) who are all pulling for you.

I wish you a very speedy recovery and hope that all goes well for you. I've owned over 10 ibanez guitars in my life and I hope you can continue to enjoy working for ibanez.

Of my current crop of four guitars three of them are Ibanez seven strings, two old UVs and a K7 I'm glad to hear there was someone behind the scenes pushing hard for these fantastic instruments which are quite frankly among the best guitars I've played.

My thoughts go out to you Paul, I wish you a speedy recovery.
