I was a pretty big Lynch fan back in the day and still am, but I never thought he did well live, at least not back in his first Dokken days. His tone was a nasly and he was sort of sloppy. It was still cool to check them out live, but I preferred the studio Lynch.
Just as a comparison, here is Reb Beach Dokken followed by Lynch Dokken on Kiss Of Death:

Obviously the production is a bit different, but you can clearly hear the difference in "accuracy" so to speak.
I think Reb plays the song better except for the verse parts.
To be fair, you're comparing a very young Lynch to a much older, very studio-seasoned Beach. Reb's played for everyone, his chops are absolutely dominant.
