, since it sounded so different from what they had just played live. However, I was very impressed once I got my head around the concept after a couple listens. Lots of good songwriting, especially when they get away from the overt Sabbath-isms.
Yeah, he plays that dual keyboard setup live. And really plays it, too. His setup and stance, as well as his Hammond style, indicate to me that he is a big fan of Jon Lord--who is only the best rock Hammond player of them all. In fact, his aggressive live Hammond sound is partly what is missing from Hex
, I think.
I also got to meet him after their set. He's about my age (old as dirt), and was dressed like an escapee from the carnival circuit. Awesome!!
