Just bought this album yesterday. Wow! It's like the Meshuggah guitarists got together with the singer from Disturbed and played System of a Down tunes in a Dream Theater style. Or something... It's different. And I like it!

I'm going to keep pimping this until you all buy it. Honestly, this album just floors me. This is what Dream Theater actually *should* sound like.

It's ace! Not sure about the Periphery comparison, either. I mean, in the first MP3, I can see how you could think that, from the syncopated riffing, but I would say it seems to be coming from a different place to Bulb's stuff. Bulb's is more of a clever twist on a simple groove-type approach, where as this is more flat-out, very deliberately complex syncopation.

I hear the Dream Theater similarity, too. But again, I'd say that's no more pronounced than a slight Pain of Salvation and Symphony X influence in parts. Verily (what a word!), they seem to have taken bits from many great bands in the prog/tech genre. Planet X, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, Spastic Ink, Between The Buried and Me...

Not so keen on the production, to be honest. But good songs are good songs, regardless of how they're recorded. And what I heard sounds very good.

Jesus Christ, this is superb! I'll have to pick this up...

"The greatest power one may possess -- in any situation -- is simply not to care what happens.

"In fact, it's the only power, all others being a semblance and mockery of it. But you must also not care about possessing the power itself. So fuck it."
