Went to the Chicago show last night. Spot on, Steven and Co. Were just excellent. Definitely one of the best live bands I've seen. Bassist isn't using a Bongo anymore which disappointed me because I love those basses, but his tone was clear and warm. He was using EBS amps.
Steven used PRS Singlecuts, CU's, and a Mushok baritone (on the heavier "The Incident" tracks), as well as a Babicz acoustic. Amps were Bad Cats as usual. Steven also had a Line 6 bean of some sort for vocal effects, I believe.
John Wesley played mostly a Singlecut (looked to be a Tremonti sig) with a piezo that sounded amazing. The piezo was probably the best piezo live tone I've ever heard out of a solidbody.
They played a ton of tracks from The Incident, FoaBP, Deadwing, and In Absentia, and even played Stars Die.
Wilson also said another DVD is on the way, and they were filming last night too, which is cool.
All in all I loved the show, and I'm glad I went because it's the last show I will be seeing for awhile.
I had to miss them. They never come here, and when they do...exams.
