Last Friday night at a gig with my cover band, there was a drummer in the audience who bitched because I didn't play the solo note for note to Kiss' Rock 'n Roll All Night. He went on to say that he would be returning the next night and expected me to "play it right".
Seriously? I told him there was no way in hell I'm "learning" that solo. I'm all for learning solos that I consider part of the song (Sweet Child O' Mine, Don't Stop Believin', etc) but I don't bother learning garbage like Poison's Nothin' But A Good Time or Rock 'n Roll All Night.
Well, I went ahead and "learned" the solo (5 minutes of listening). He showed up the next night and I played it. He actually shook my hand. Worse yet, my own drummer actually fuckin' noticed it and thought it was awesome.
I never knew Ace had fans, let alone that both of them were drummers.
Now that's a cool story
